Here is how the Baycrap Propaganda site of the pretend "trnc" reports him...

"... Stating that he will take steps that will benefit the Turkish Cypriot people, he said the issue of guaranties is the red line and sine qua non of Turkish Cypriots.

“There is a decision taken by our parliament about the guaranties which is supported by all parties. For us the guaranties have vital importance” Eroğlu said. ..."

Got to credit our negotiating team for getting all our red lines in the statement and somehow missing out Eroglu's red line!

The reports in the press from a couple of days ago are that Guarantees were dropped by Turkey in exchange for the concession on Citizenship by the Republic.

... but no one seems to have told Frieko and the Sidelined Eroglu.

what concession on citizenship did the RoC make?

The inclusion of the ref to the zonal citizenship.

This bit...

"... All citizens of the United Cyprus shall also be citizens of either the Greek-Cypriot constituent state or the Turkish-Cypriot constituent state. This status shall be internal and shall complement and not substitute in any way the united Cyprus citizenship.... "

Wishful thinking I'm afraid, the Treaty of Guarantee applied to the ROC, it would have to be renegotiated for the new State. A treaty of guarantee that permits armed intervention effectively denies sovereignty to an independent state, it's a non starter these days.

And then call him "ungrateful British bastard".
After all they suffered from the Turks they still think they are their "protectors". Like a whore who needs a patron.
In reality their best protectors will be the kypreoi themselves, but i guess that's too complicated for some to understand.

I think what Maximus said is that if you want to live under Turkish 'protection' you should go and live in Turkey!
