Something fishy goes on for sure.
Turkey's sudden change is unexplainable for the moment.
I actually fear Anastasiades more than the Turks. This guy likes to bring one catastrophe upon another on us.Starting from what he did during the Anan Plan period, to our total bankruptcy seal within 15 days after he took presidency. And then he shows up as if he was our "savior"
Who knows what he promised the Turks?
The whole thing doesn't fit....
Well, fishy...???
Look at things from Erdogans's angle...
In the past couple of weeks he has sought to re-launch Turkey's EU Accession, which must include a normalisation of relations with the Republic and the Republic lifting any restrictions on opening new Chapters.
Over the past year or so we've reported on the demise of the great Turkish economy and the slump in the TL. A resurrection of the EU Accession will bolster the much-needed foreign investment in the Turkish economy.
In the wake of Gezi and the Corruption Scandal and Davutoglu's failures in Libya, Egypt and Syria, he's also probably keen to find a foreign policy success to detract from these before the round of elections coming up in Turkey, including the presidential election that he's so keen to win.
If we go along with these the Republic holds the key to these ambitions.
The Republic may never nave been in a stronger position. Hopefully Pres A is astute enough to recognise this.
