...more flags, Cypriot will fly in the north, lol, if kurupetos makes sense some way, Cypriots (given the results) are the "Turk's" ELAM.
I think the prevailing view of mainstream Turkish Cypriot politicians is that, in the first place, there can be no piecemeal steps towards a solution and matters such as Turkish Cypriot participation in EU elections can only be resolved within a comprehensive solution. Apart from that, they argue that the current voting arrangements do not accord with a federal solution and what should happen is for two seats to be reserved for Turkish Cypriots, with separate elections held in which only Turkish Cypriots vote. They also argued that such elections, if they were to be held now, should be held in the north with all TRNC citizens able to vote. I think it was clear, with all of the main Turkish Cypriot parties opposed to these elections, that few Turkish Cypriots would vote.
People such as Eroğlu are already arguing that the Greek Cypriot regime has usurped the two Turkish Cypriot seats in the European Parliament. I also expect to see challenges by Turkish Cypriots who allege that they were disenfranchised in these elections and, if they exhaust all domestic remedies without satisfaction, they will probably go to the European Court of Human Rights.
