Juventus beat Arsenal and Man City to 15-year-old prodigy for €100,000
The 15-year-old Cypriot is regarded as one of the most promising prospects to ever emerge from the island nation, having come up through the youth ranks of first division club Enosis Neon Paralimni.
Arsenal and Manchester City had each been paired with the teenager in an effort to swell their respective academies’ ranks, whilst Udinese also expressed interest in line with the Friuli outfit’s penchant for snapping up young talent at discount prices.
The Bianconeri always held the advantage in the race for his signature, however, as according to the Cyprus Mail Kastanos underwent a trial with the Serie A champions over the summer and made a lasting impression on primavera coach Andrea Zanchetta.
Manuele Baiocchini of Sky Sport Italia has maintained that Juventus have wrapped up a deal to purchase the prodigy for €100,000, though the transfer must be officially delayed until the Enosis Paralimni man turns 16 on January 30.
Scouting reports suggest Kastanos is capable of playing as either a winger or out-and-out striker, possessing considerable ability with both feet.
