Optimism

Postby Tim Drayton » Mon Dec 30, 2013 1:40 pm

As I travel around town, I can't help keeping track of the shops that close along streets I use frequently. To my surprise, I have just noticed in my local era that the premises vacated by a stationer's which shut down has a new tenant. The shop has been given a bright and colourful appearance for the new business to have opened there - an ice cream parlour. Opening an ice cream parlour in December at the early stages of a deep recession - that's what I call optimism!

:D

Yes I know where that shop is.

Tried to use a smiley off the iPad keyboard set ... Obviously it did not get allowed through... :(

What must also be optimistic must be the new Periptero/kiosk recently opened near there, withe several others within a few hundred metres...

Maybe he’s the property owner and realizing that he won’t be getting another tenant for a while, has decided to setup his own simple business to secure some income at least during the summer.

In any case, Cyprus definitely needs a business info and advisory center to offer support to new entrepreneurs because a lot of unnecessary basic mistakes are being made that could be averted.
