Following a brief review of complaints in the past two weeks, the social media platform has decided to delete the “bot” accounts regardless of their political affiliation.
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/twitte ... sCatID=339The Cyprus mail should follow suit. The comments section of their online paper is crawling with "bots" that have "manipulative" political motives from "Turkey".
I know this thread is specifically about the Cyprus Mail and I don't want to detract from its seriousness on that score; but reading some of the comments on Cyprus Mail is like reading some of the posts on CL. It's very likely the same lot of anti-Cypriot Brits that post racist bile against builders/lawyers/politicians/people, simply because they are Cypriot, whilst all the while they promote hotels/restaurants and suchlike in the occupied north (which, I've noticed, even their admin has called the TRNC, without quotation marks). [However, there are also a few good, fair-minded Brits on there.]
Seems to me, CM and CL go hand in hand with the same pro-Turkish, Brit-based agenda.
I don't believe Brits are racist against Cypriot builders, lawyers, politicians and especially the people.
They can be critical of Cypriot Builders, Lawyers, and Politicians and I don't blame them at all because there are far too many bad eggs. Like playing Russian Roulette with 3 bullets in a 6 chamber barrel instead of only one in the UK! Sorry, but I am just being honest!
However, some of the comments on CM are disgusting probably because there are some carpetbagger trash commenting on it and a few Turks and then add the pro Annan spin from the tabloid rag. They seem to be intolerant to anti Annan Plan views or opinions against their own agenda and at the end of the day, that is a poor reflection on themselves.
