Great News: CNG orders potent Israeli Corvettes!

Postby Paphitis » Sat Dec 21, 2013 7:01 am

I have it on good authority that the CNG has ordered the SAAR-72 from Israel! That's right folks, you all heard it first on CF!

Oh boy, this is about to make your mouths water.

As you can see, they are stealthy, are ideal for for OYK Special Ops, can deploy an AW-139, and are armed with SSM, SAM, CIWS, Torpedoes and Oto Melara 3 inch with precision guidance phased array combat systems. These things can engage ships from 100nm away.

Oh, and they are quick. Top speed 33 knots. :D

Just as potent as larger Destroyers. These ships are a lot more than a symbolic move. It sends a strong message to Turkey! :D

LETHAL!

Turkish Navy news made the earliest reports back in May that Israel is offering Cyprus the SAAR 72 as a maratime EEZ solution ideal to meet CNG Defence Requirements.

Obviously, the IAF will also operate the SAAR 72. :D

I think the French bid finally lost out unless they are planning to proceed with both purchases.

The Israelis managed to convince the RoC that their design would suit better. In many ways, the Israeli Boats are better. Israel are very good at building smaller vessels like the SAAR 4, SAAR 4.5, SAAR 5 and now the SAAR 72. The Israeli Vessels are small, but pack a punch. Ideal boats for Israel and Cyprus! :D

Further: French Corvettes would eat cheese and surrender.

Are these being built in the USA to Israelli designs...???

... at Ingalls Shipbuilding (which from Wiki) is "a shipyard located in Pascagoula, Mississippi, USA, originally established in 1938, and is now part of Huntington Ingalls Industries. It is a leading producer of ships for the US Navy, and at 10,900 employees, the largest private employer in Mississippi."

Formerly the ship-building division of Northrop Grumman.

Good news.
Beef up that security.
I'm sure our only ally Israel - although be it selfish - want's to see a secure mutual EEZ zone.
