Formerly the ship-building division of Northrop Grumman.

Howdy Bill,

the Boats are Israeli and will be built by Israeli Shipyards Ltd.

However, the Harpoon SSM System is American and might be out of bounds but the Israelis have their very own Gabrielle SSM System which can be in lieu of the Harpoon SSM.

The next few months will be interesting.

Erdo is preparing a series of show trials of his arch rival's Gulen followers in the civil service. Erdo had the national security council pronounce them a "threat to national security", ie giving clearance for prosecutions. Nothing diminishes credibility more than show trials. Add this to the problems with all neighbors, (part of the zero problems policy!!!) the ineffectual show in the Cypriot EEZ, and the circus picture is total.

The next few months will prove what a circuswe are dealing with.

No need...why go for a harpoon replacement when we're already equipped with 180km range Exocets?

Because Harpoons are probably the best SSM on the market.

All subjective perhaps but it does seem everyone prefers the Harpoon so i think that says a lot. Not to say that the Exocet is not also good.

The Israeli Boats are ideal for Harpoon or Israeli made Gabriel SSM. Probably best to stick with the Gabriel because it is best and easily configured into the Israeli made Fire Control Systems. The Exocets you have are land based and are probably not designed to be fired by the Israeli Fire Control System used on the SAAR 72.

More importantly, is the CNG ordering these boats? DT, you would know if they are.

The order is back on, being voted through in parliament this month without budget so as to allow the order to remain confidential.
