Well, well, what do you know, that after years of me calling all the Turkish settlers in the "trnc" as Illegal Aliens, Erdogan has finally admitted to it and had signed the agreement with the EU making all the Turkish settlers in the north as well as all other non EU citizens coming from Turkey as Illegal Aliens onto EU territory. :wink:

Yes, it does apply to the Illegal Settlers.

Here's a para from the article...

"... “The provisions of the agreement related to the readmission of the nationals of the two sides, and those related to the readmission of the stateless persons and nationals from third countries with which Turkey has concluded bilateral treaties or arrangements on readmission, will enter into force on the first day of the second month following the date on which the EU and Turkey will notify each other that their respective ratification procedures have been completed,” the EC said. ..."

... and a very pertinent para from the EC web-site, that Turkey has to fulfil its end of the bargain first...

"...This document lists the requirements which should be fulfilled by Turkey to allow the EC to present a proposal to the European Council and European Parliament to amend a 2001 EU regulation listing the third countries whose nationals must be in possession of visas when crossing the external borders and those whose nationals are exempt from that requirement, so as to move Turkey from its negative to the positive list..."

Here is the real kicker in this whole deal, as I understand it. The moment this deal is ratified by Turkey and the EU, it will immediately apply to ALL the Illegal Alien Turks anywhere in the EU territory, and after 3 years, it will apply to ALL other nationals who have used Turkey as a springboard to entering EU, so basically speaking, the Illegal Alien foreign nationals will have 3 more years to enjoy the EU territories before being sent back to Turkey, but Turks will be sent back pronto, thanks to their President Erdogan.

you will find that aliens in cyprus number abot 50,000 by un definition. we will still have 450,000 tcs in cyprus.
