Back to Annan Plan?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Back to Annan Plan?

Postby Jerry » Sat Dec 14, 2013 7:06 pm

It would seem that Davutoglu thinks the AP is the way forward in the search for a solution to the Cyprus problem.

So much for the psuedo "H"intellectual's inane prattle about "trnc" being recognised.

“Bringing new conditions will create new areas of dispute and we will lose time,” said Davutoğlu at a press conference, adding that everything about Cyprus has been discussed thoroughly and Annan plan is the basis from which things should move forward.
The 2004 Annan plan presents a very comprehensive solution; everything was discussed: what sort of a state there will be, what sort of unification of the island there would be based on what foundations,” said Davutoğlu and added that there are no serious differences of opinion on Cyprus between Turkey and Greece.

Davu has even sort of tried to apologise to the Armenians a bit, so is he going to apologise to 180,000 Greek Cypriots next?
In the first high-level visit from Turkey to Armenia in five years, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has said Turkey has never supported deportation, which is an inhumane act and impossible to approve of, referring to the controversial events of 1915.

Jerry, we may scoff at this, but it is the kind of thing that our pussy politicians would even consider. I kid you not.
God help us, i get the feeling we are about to be rail roaded.

This has been Turkey's game all along - take twice their "share" and offer a bit of it back as a compromise.

Will the law prevail over the "facts on the ground" as the Turks euphemistically call their colonisation?

Membership of the EU has failed to get us a favourable solution so far but it's possible that Turkey is aware that there are changes afoot that could seriously disadvantage the "trnc".

Ah yes, perpetual punishment for the wicked Greek Cypriots who only wanted what every other colony was granted - the right to determine their own future rather than be gobbled up by the big bad wolf to the north.

oh dear oh dear another one burring their head under the sun.

you could have done anything you wanted so long as you did not impose it on the tc population. or did they not have the right to do as they wish.

there are arseholes and there those with double arseholes and charluis are definitely them.

What the little Turkish weasel said or didn’t say isn’t worth a thread.

Soon there will be elections and they won’t be around even.

It is Turkey that missed its chance with the Annan Plan. Only Turkey is arguing for it to be the basis of a settlement today.

Nobody else is. Not even Eroglu...
