Although her mother is of Turkish Cypriot descent, her father was originally from the "Circassian Coast", along Turkey's Black Sea area, where she's maintained very strong links with throughout her educational and working life - and now career, hence the Turkish Navy!

Let's Give it up for Sibel, the lawmaker, medical graduation from Istanbul University and first, full, half Turkish/Turkish Cypriot up and coming President of the TRNC.

My fellow Greek Cypriot press associates have advised that they are dreading the day she becomes President of the TRNC.....and I wonder why?
