A very common name often mistranslated from Greek to English that even Google translate has got it wrong.

A new testament name mistranslated for its similar sounding old testament name.

Even the literal English translation is correct.

So what's the name?

Sorry GR, I don't know how many Jesus's you know in Cyprus or England, this name is a lot more common.

Google translate has no problem translating Jesus.

Please try again.

I thought you were talking about this translation confusion:

Hebrew to English: Yeshua = Joshua

Hebrew to Greek: Yeshua = Ιησούς

Greek to English: Ιησούς = Jesus

English to Greek: Joshua = Ιησούς του ναυή

Simon needs no translation: Σίμων appears in Greek mythology as one of the Telchines. I am told that in Greek means "flat-nosed"
