Mr H,

Without Turkey’s financial and military support the “TRNC” will collapse overnight.

They will not be able to function as an entity of any kind and your so-called government will simply resign and jump on the first boat to Turkey. Meanwhile within 48 hours the RoC forces will overrun any resistance faster than you can say “momma”.

And finally, the overall reaction from the international community will be that Cyprus is enforcing UNSC Resolution 353 (1974) and is therefore acting within its legal rights.

Do you now better understand the precariousness of your existence?

Let me sum it up for you in one sentence…

The “TRNC” can never be independent with a strong Turkey, and cannot exist at all with a weak Turkey.

Now that’s a catch 22 if I ever did see one!

Get Real, clearly you haven't been introduced to the idea of "Assimilation". And, clearly you are about 30 years too late my good friend. The fabric of our historically built Turkish Cypriot cultural platform has now become "Turkish", from the way we speak, our acsent, our formal process of education with the many universities built from 1974 and, most importantly, our political, economic and even our ethical views. The new generatino of Turkish Cypriots today do not care about the past, want strong Economic ties with mainland Turkey, are educated by Turkey, and speak better with the Turkish acsent than some people from the mainland.

Do you see what I am getting at now? It's no longer about Turkey being a part of Northern Cyprus or about resolution against Turkey's so called "occupation", but (a more higher process) where the Turkish Cypriots are now more "Turkish" and less "Cypriot" - in almost every element of their existence! Hence, why a Federal based formula may now longer be feasible.

Yeah sure, the bizonal-bicommunal federation is not feasible so we should cross that out then. Otherwise everything else still stands.....

The communiqué notes that both leaders {from Great Britain & Cyprus} “support a settlement agreed under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General, based on the UN Charter and the Security Council Resolutions on Cyprus, as well as on the principles upon which the EU is founded, for a state of Cyprus with a single sovereignty, single international personality and a single citizenship, in a bicommunal, bizonal federation with political equality, as described in the relevant UNSCRs

On EU enlargement, the two agreed that “accession of future member states to the EU is dependent on them meeting all accession criteria”,

Regarding the adopted text of the joint communiqué on the Cyprus problem, the president {Anastasiades} described as “very important” the fact the British government supports his positions on the basis of the negotiations.

Why the "TRNC" will NOT be recognized.
