Why the TRNC will be Recognised

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

That's a good question. The UN arguably should enforce its resolutions on Cyprus by placing them under Chapter 7 and use military and economic sanctions against Turkey. Like they did when Iraq invaded Kuwait. We all know why they haven’t done so. But that's another discussion.

In this discussion we are talking about recognition of the 'trnc' as a state by the UN. Under Chapter 25 of the UN Charter it is expected that all UN member states will agree to and respect UNSC resolutions on the territorial sovereignty of Cyprus. There is no prospect of any change here...

Looks like all this thread has managed to prove is why the 'trnc' will never be recognised.

Back to the drawing board, eh chaps?

What do you mean, Barfo? You are the one who is prepared to wait a billion years for the recognition of the 'trnc'.

You don't even have a drawing board by the sound of it.

Time is like sand its always moving and with absolutely no sight of a solution and many failed attempts the mindset of the decision takers over Cyprus will also change there opinion about how to solve the problem....what was right 40 years ago may not be seen as being ideal today.....recognition of the north may just bite you people in the butt when you least expect it.

The north is already recognised. As sovereign territory of the Republic of Cyprus. It's in the UNSC resolutions, the EU accession agreements, international courts etc. I hope that doesn't come as too much of a shock...

You must be very naïve if you think a UN member nation is going to simultaneously go against the RoC and the UN itself, in order to befriend a microscopic group of pseudo-Muslim nobodies that most haven’t even heard of, and who also have (1) the political clout of the Amish, (2) the military strength of the Zulus, and (3) the financial power of a Skid Row bag lady!
