Why the TRNC will be Recognised

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Get Real,

I will, too, be frank with you. Firstly, the TRNC is Turkey, so sleep on that for a while and answer back once you've personally spoken to President Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, obviously "Turkish Republic" being the two key words!

As for the below, which I find very amusing from someone as intelligent as you Get Real:

Your Quote:
It’s none of the above MrH and I’m surprised you’re so naïve so let me be frank with you…

The only reason they TOLERATE your stupidities; Turkey’s stupidities, and the “TRNC’s” stupidities, is because at this period in time they are OUTGUNNED plain and simple.

There is absolutely no other reason because the RoC has the moral high ground, the legal high ground, the historic high ground, the RELIGIOUS high ground, and every other high ground imaginable on its side… bar the military one!

The day they catch Turkey militarily weak (and assuming you’ll still be pretending to be a state at the RoC's expense) will be the day they’ll cut you to pieces and make bed spreads out of your hides… make no mistake about that and I’ll bet you that not a single other country in the UN will have any qualms about it.

The "OUTGUNNED" is seriously old news, and truly has no relevance as Turkey has always outgunned the Greek nation(s) in the past, but that has never caused them to suddenly decide to invade Greece, or intervene in Cyprus prior to 1974. The truth of the matter here is that, Yes, Turkey did see an opportunity to intervene under Article IV in 1974, but only after the bloody Coup events of the 15th of July when Greece staged a Military campaign against the Greek Cypriots - trust me, I was there, watching!

Turkey then, and only then, only decided to stay after finding the mass graves of Turkish Cypriot civilians. The Greek Cypriot graves that were found were not of civilians, but mostly military personnel, or those people killed by the Greek Milita and blamed on the Turkish army after the events of 1974. The British know this very well, so do the Americans and the UN, hence which is why they, to this day, do not push Turkey to leave the island (as too many Greek Cypriot hearts will be broken if Turkey were to show the film footage of those Greek Cypriot mass graves - I have seen them). Denktas showed us the footage after the Documentary "DEAD OR ALIVE" was made in 1988 (or thereabouts).

So, we now arrive back at why Turkey will eventually win the Recognition of the TRNC - Ultimately, due to an overwhelming lack of confidence in forming a "Cypriot" nation, thus similarly to the Palestinian and Israeli conflict....to the end of a TWO STATE NATION.

I repeat: Has thirty years of abject failure taught you nothing? Please explain how the 'trnc' and Turkey will overturn all the UN resolutions lined up against them and gain the approval of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly...

Please answer the question. How does the 'trnc' and Turkey plan to overturn all the UN resolutions lined up against them and gain the approval of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly...

You do know that for a state to be 'recognised' it has to be a UN member and has to have the approval of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly?

It's not a question of opening an office abroad or just saying 'I recognise you'.

So please tell...

Hi Demonax, let me answer that for you as truthful and honest as possible, and being practical to the realities of the Cyprus situation on the ground.

As you may have realised with many of the resolutions passed by the UN, not only on Cyprus but also with many other world examples, is that they are ever changing and never completely binding. A UN Resolution is only an element of guidance and direction for those countries part of the committee, where there are many countries whom still do not belong. There are also many countries that are not Fully internationally recognised due to their political issues with others countries or federal entities, but are still acknowledged similarly to the TRNC.

This is where my answer to your question becomes apparent. The UN Resolutions affecting the TRNC are, (1) Only Advice and not binding as I have said above, (2) Are more connected to Turkey and not really the TRNC, Northern Cyprus, or the Turkish Cypriot State as you can see with the UN attempts in desperately seeking a Comprehensive Settlement, (3) Many other countries, organisation and Associations have, after realising that the Turkish Cypriots are not at fault here, started to build strong ties and relationship with the TRNC such as the OIC, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, many of the Educational and Medical institutes in the U.S and U.K, Car manufacturers, Banks, eateries, and many, many more. (3) Taiwan for instance whom is not a "Country" Recognised member of the UN is able to operate as a fully functioning state pending its differences with China as a good example of the flexibility of how Political scenarios can help Accommodate other similar scenarios regardless of how different it may seem on the surface in comparison to the Cyprus conflict, and finally (4) Why hasn't the UN returned to the table of ratifying UN Res 541 for instance since it was first agreed upon - which originally saw Pakistan as rejecting it and the U.S as abstaining. I assure you that if this particular Resolution was to be returned to in an updated vote, even if it should fail for us, the amount of objections would not be as much as seen then - which would indicate how those countries and the changing EU could cause the Greek Cypriots a huge problem.

So my final word is this if you want to take a chance, force your President in arranging an updated vote to Res 541 where you may walk away feeling very different and possibly angry than when it was first introduced......in other words, Res 541 is Old News and those at the UN and involved with the Cyprus Talks in 2013 know it!

We, here, working closely with the TRNC every minute of the day both in the U.S, U.K, OIC, ASIA and EU are seeing more interested parties willing to participate and support the TRNC for one reason - It's strong affiliation and relationship with Turkey, the Turkic States and "SECURITY". I will leave you with the "Security" aspect until another time.

Not true. Whereas UN General Assembly resolutions are recommendations, UN Security Council resolutions are in effect mandatory upon UN member states. Under Article 25 of the Charter, UN member states are obligated to carry out "decisions of the Security Council in accordance with the present Charter".

Many other countries have started to build strong ties and relationship with the TRNC such as Azerbaijan, Pakistan...

I rest my case...

Under Article 25 of the UN Charter, members of the UN agree to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council.

Now please tell us which members of the UN have recognised the 'trnc'? Apart from Turkey...

Now can you tell the difference between a recommendation and an obligation?
