In some ways this video may be beneficial in getting Cypriots to think about race relations.. The poor man having his leg broken because he's black..would they have done it to a Cypriot? Probably no!

Nothing wrong with that.

How are the police going to arrest someone who is resisting?

Some people just want to have a dig at the police because they appear "heavy" handed, but if they had to deal with the nonsense police have to endure every day, then they wouldn't be too quick to judge.

It's like in the States. If the police think you have or are likely to hurt or kill another member of the public, particularly a child, elderly person, or another police officer, then they are probably going to gun you down whether you are white or black. And good on them!

Are you implying that he should be immune from police checks because he just so happens to be physically distinct from natives and it therefore always translates as a racist act?

If you're checking on immigration status there is little point in stopping blonde Swedes. There’s a problem in Cyprus with illegal immigrants mainly from South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

In the US, Australia or UK, if they police did that there would be cries of racism and racial profiling. Now that they are in Cyprus, you are going to be getting much the same.

Why would the police stop a Cypriot to ask for papers? That doesn't make any sense if they are looking for illegals.

And Turkey is the main culprit for transiting illegals to us (the EU), in exchange for money, thus making them our problem because Turkey will not sign a readmission agreement and take them back.
