According to CM:

Campaign Manager of BirdLife is Martin Hellicar working with the UK's Royal Society for the Protection of Birds to monitor Cyprus, since 2002.

Funds for 2014 are from Norway and EEA (?).

They also got a grant from the EU, and they are closely cooperating with the Cypriot Ecological Party and Department of Environment. It was stated by one of their representatives on RIK TV and I posted the YouTube.

A sad reminder that people are stupid the whole world over. Sheep-like automatons that don't want to be woken up from their stupor to help an animal in distress. Selfish and egocentric - that getting their leaky washing-up bowl swapped is more important than getting help for a dog trapped in a car with all windows firmly shut as the sun blazed down despite a cold winter's day. A supermarket help-desk unhelpful hand who had not been trained properly and would say "yes, even if it's illegal for anyone to leave a dog in our car-park with windows all shut we are not going to call the car registration over the tannoy as it upsets our customers". Sod the law even if this is supposed to be 'animal-loving UK'. Happy New year.

Nice attitude!

At 68 years old, he's obviously still finding it difficult to accept his way of life has had to change.

- Caught with 11 birds - sad, but a far cry from the 1.5 Million birds we are told are being caught. At this rate there must be at least another 136,000 poachers around. We should be tripping over them ....

Sometimes I ask myself.
Are we really that insignificant?
And then there are posts like yours putting Cypriots in the limelight.
I guess we're important to some. :D
We're glad to be the center of your universe.

And no, the article mentions nothing about Cyprus.
