So tell us freely if you agree with those who plan to boycott paying their electricity bill...

They are free to do as they wish but I can freely say I do not agree with boycotting payment of electrcity bills.

Why is this a matter of political freedom? If you don’t pay your bills then surely your supply should be cut off? Don’t you agree?

People are free to do as they wish but they have to also put up with the consequences.

Agreed. I trust the authorities in the north will not put up with boycotts of this kind, will not give in to a bunch of freeloaders who refuse to pay their bills, and will take the necessary steps to cut off their electricity supply.

:( Oh dear...

"Electricity tariff increase will lead to economic destruction"

NICOSIA – Sixteen Non-Governmental Organisations, which came together with the invitation of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Shopkeepers and Craftsmen, announced that the increase in electricity tariffs in the northern part of Cyprus would lead to the destruction of economy...

The NGOs stated that the increase would create a domino effect since electricity is a main production cost, and therefore, lead to economic destruction. They underlined that production and services would eventually come to a standstill.

Last week, the “government” in the northern part of Cyprus had announced an 18 per cent to 29 per cent increase in electricity tariffs.

VP is back to the usual "better under them than under you" refrain. But Ayyannili probably meant better not under them and not under the GCs either. Which would be an undrstandable position, as opposed to the unilaterally accepted slavery proposed by the VPs.
