If you cannot understand why it matters to TC that a truthful version of how they lived (and suffered) in Cyprus is _accpeted_ rather than denied and why such is a pre requist of any chance for true peace and unity Cyprus then I can not help you. I do not wish to remind you of GC 'evils' from the past. I seek to counter your assertations that you regulalry make about the past that only make ture peace a distant hope. Assertations like GC did nothing to drive TC into enclaves. GC did nothing to cause TC to fear living amongst them. EOKA was purely a struggle against British coloinal oppression. That GC abondoned all hope and desire for Enosis and did nothing to try and achieve it after 1960. That GC did nothing to try and undermine the 1960 consitituion and force a breakdown. That the proposed revisions to the consitituion were aimed solely at making the state function and had nothing to do with trying to remove TC communites rights and ensure GC domination in Cyprus without limit. In order to try and make you realise that this version of history is not the one lived by many TC in that period I have to remind you of GC 'evils'. Not because I wish to constantly repeat them but because you wish to constantly deny, diminish, diregard or forget them. If you could accept that there were reasons why the situation of many TC was unacceptable and unbearable by any measure from 63-74 and not solely because of their secret desire to partition Cyprus but also because of GC actions , behaviours and desires - then I would be more than happy to move on. The probelm is you insist that all that TC suffered in period 63-74 was the result of TC desire to partition the island. You insist that GC and the GC run state did nothing to oppress the TC minority in that period. You insist that there was no plan to remove (by any means legal or not by force if necessary) TC consitutional protections to make clear the route to total GC control of Cyprus (and at that time enosis).

How can we come to an understanding and a loving relationship when one of the partners actually benefits from hate and separation?
The answer is actualy the reverse. I remind you of what it meant to some to live as a TC minority in Cyprus in the period 63-74 because I want to put an end to this hatred. You do not put an end to hatred by forgetting or denying the causes of the hatred. You put an end to it by accepting it happened not denying it. Look at the 'truth and rconcillation' process in SA.
You do not think it is valid that TC have fears about living in a united Cyprus because the last time they did there was death, murder, lawlessness, fear and terrorism? You think that is an
excuse for having concerns about future unity and not a
reason?
Piratis wrote:This is why Turkish Cypriots keep recycling nonsense that Greek Cypriots want to dominate them, or to swallow them, kill them etc. Because they have something to gain from this hate, thats why.
It is nonsense that GC wanted to dominate TC in cyprus? So if the thirteen ammendments to the consitituion had just been accepted by TC, what would have stopped Enosis? Or a law stating Greek should be the sole offical language or anything else that would have been acceptable to the GC community but not the TC community? Nothing would have stopped it for the GC domination of Cyprus would have been complete.
It is nonsesne that GC wanted to kill TC in the past? Were all the TC deaths at GC hands accidents then?
Piratis wrote:What they want to gain: More power that proportionately belongs to them.
More land that proportionately belongs to them. And using the above 2, more money that proportionately belongs to them.
No what we want to gain is a right to determine the future of the TC community within Cyprus. To work in a framework of 'partnership' with the GC community and not one of (dominant) majority vs (subsevient) minority.
Piratis wrote:It is really sad that when the people of Europe are coming together leaving behind 2 world wars, in Cyprus hate is maintained by some people in order to gain on the expense of some others.
Europe sets an example of comming togeather and leaving past hatred behind, yet the proposed settlement that had the TOTAL support of the EU was actualy nothing but a unfair illegal foreign plan designed to enslave Cyprus to the needs of foriegn powers?
