Just drive carefully because I don't believe it is a great idea to be driving excessively slow (like at half the speed limit as you claimed to be doing)!

I remember a few years ago, my uncle drove me up towards Polis and he was going about 30kph. It was scary and dangerous. He was well and truly losing it. Later he even put water in the engine thinking it was the radiator. Dementia is a bad thing and he was well on his way. I was in great fear (for my life) and I had to find interesting ways in order to get him to stop and let me drive without hurting his feelings.

Others were getting frustrated and everyone would try to overtake, sometimes in dangerous sections of the road.

Very dangerous, and you can just imaging people on Bikes that could come unstuck, hence the slow driver awareness they teach these days.

It is a common problem, particularly with older drivers these days. Slow drivers can cause accidents.

Those who think they are safer on the roads because they are "young" are usually the most dangerous. Obviously, beyond a certain age, people should not drive just as below a certain age they are not allowed to drive.

But those few remaining who do not have impairments such as cretinism, illogical-assumption syndrome or drug/alcohol consumption problems, and are of acceptable driving ages, then the golden rule is to SLOW DOWN!

"Slowing down is one of the most important things drivers can do to make our roads and communities safer and greener. Slowing down means you have more time to react and brake in an emergency, such as if a child suddenly steps out, or there’s stationary traffic up ahead on a motorway. If we reduce traffic speeds, it means fewer and less serious crashes and lower emissions."

Motoring and Biking are only as dangerous as "the other driver".

So find an open road on a dark night with no "other drivers", wind down the windows, turn up the music and enjoy one of the few thrills left to us.

(BillC ... near 40 years of driving, with zero tickets)

Not at half the speed limit!

Look, just go to the cop station and hand in your licence because you're too stupid to hold one!
