I hope they catch the murderers. It's very sad to see 2 young kids get shot in cold bloodlike this. Condolences to their families.

Condolences to Fyssas' family too. All 3 unnecessary victims of this stupid war. There are better ways to make a political statement and even have an anti immigration policy without hurting or killing anyone.

There is a lesson here. The politics of GD is dangerous and will lead to lost lives and much heartache for Greece. They claim to be fighting for Greece, but all I can see is them undermining and damaging Greece.

If common sense does not prevail, then expect a divided and polarized country between the extreme left and extreme right, leading to more violence and perhaps civil war.

Don't say you have not been warned. In order to love Greece you need to have a level head and have 2 feet firmly planted on the ground and serve the country well even when times are tough.

Greece needs unity, not division!

Agree with what you say. Sadly however greeks have always been good at fighting each other. The civil war of 1944 to 1947!was just but the most serious recent incident.

Btw would GiG have have liked Greece to fall under the control of Stalin? As usual her one sided bitterness comes out when she forgets to mention the other side of the equation, namely the intervention by the USSR with its support for communists.

The revolution of the 1820's nearly failed because of internal dissension that lead to early civil war, then one had the National Schism of the early 20th century which I am told still has an influence today. Then there was the civil war.

I just hope that for the majority of Greeks who support neither the communists nor GD, and at least 80% Of Greeks, probably a lot more now, do not support GD that the scum of both right and left are put in their place. Prison,

Sorry STUD, but you're on your own here!

I fully agree that "g"IG is very biased and naive to paint the Greek Government and its American and British allies as the bad guys. Fact of the matter is, Russia and the then Yugoslavia interfered within Greece and subverted the country in order to control it. Another rather inconvenient truth is that Russia had egged on the Turkish Invasion because they wanted war between Greece and Turkey. So much for our so called "friend".

The civil war was as a result of external interference, mainly from Yugoslavia and Russia. The Brits and Americans were merely aiding the Government of the day to see Greece defeat this external threat and to predominately satisfy their own agenda in keeping Greece within their alliance rather than see it join the ranks of Eastern European Soviet Block Warsaw Pact. What happened is that Yugoslavia and Russia saw an opportunity in an obviously war torn and devastated country and thought they would capitalize on this. That is what caused the civil war.

But, Greeks are very capable of running their own affairs. They have had a rough time of it lately, and I can understand how many Greeks feel helpless and that they have lost control of their country. And much of it is not their fault because I seriously doubt Greece would be in this position if it had access to its own Drachma Currency. These problems were largely imposed on the poor buggers. Stuff like this is inevitably going to pave the way to some kind of extremism like GD.

What you seem to forget is that, while for many decades Greek Governments have been woeful, the spirit of the people still remains. This is a people that is capable of a lot, and in many ways they have shown the western world the way it is suppose to be done. Who can forget the first allied victory of WW2 against a powerful Italy and then the resistance against the NAZIs. I remember attending the Olympics of 2004. Then, you felt that the country could conquer anything!

I do not believe what you say. The semantics of GD are only temporary. Greeks are a moderate people, and will temper the excesses that divide the nation. They have no choice but in the meantime, they have to take some very bitter and toxic medicine thanks to the EU.
