Anyway, the CY PIO have a little on this story that tells us that the former unofficial muhktar known as Toolate by some and as Slaphead by others has supported the talks between the associations to take place next month...

"... Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (25.10.13) reports that the former "turkish Cypriot" leader Mehmet Ali Talat expressed his support as regards the forthcoming November 5 meeting between the Cyprus Football Association (COP) and the “turkish cypriot" Football Association” which will meet in Zurich.
Talat wished that a solution come out of the meeting adding that the "turkish cypriots" need confidence or spirits at this time and if a solution comes out of the Zurich meeting will help the “people” a lot.

In addition the paper also writes that leftists organizations support the meeting while rightists area against it. ..."

It's funny, according to the far-right Turkish (I doubt it's run by Cypriots) newspaper Volkan, Talat said the opposite ("KOP'a üyelik akıl işi değil", roughly "membership in KOP is madness") and claims that joining the two football associations will lead to the destruction of the "Turkish Cypriots' struggle for existence".

These idiots make me mad. What they are claiming as the "Turkish Cypriots' existence struggle" is in fact the struggle to keep Turkishness (under Turkey's definition of Turkishness) alive in Cyprus. In doing so, they are causing the Turkish Cypriots to move away and/or assimilate into their nation, thus destroying the very community they claim to be defending. The actual Turkish Cypriot struggle for existence is to prevent this from happening.
