DNA tests have been carried out and they confirm the girl's parents are the couple from whom she was removed.
False alarm, appearances can be deceptive.
They should have followed the Greek procedure and not relied purely on appearances. And why did it take them so long to establish the DNA results? They could have results in hours, not days!
- But this muck-up proves how brilliantly the Greek Police behaved - hence a little praise is due.
The results of the tests referred to in the case of the Irish girl were reported days ago.
Yes, I know, but they still held the family apart for a few days before they got the DNA results and sadly meanwhile reported the case to the papers. I believe they went purely by looks unlike the case of the Greek Police who also questioned and checked certificates whilst meanwhile also carrying out DNA tests before making a case. Their procedure should become a blueprint for such searches as it works.
The authorities in Ireland did act to check documents and hospital birth records and found discrepancies.
That says a lot for Irish record keeping.
(Just joking, no offence - I love my Irish folk ).
