Without doubt. the Turkish "nation" does have remnants of the Greeks they stole for their looks and breeding. DNA testing can help them trace their past. A long-ago Turkish friend of mine (two actually) did confide in me they felt more Greek. They looked it too. It turns out there are a few Turks whose family histories suggest they were like some of these Gypsy children, taken from their real families and brought up in a strange Turkish/Roma culture. But what seems to have happened over time is that these people were/are more attracted to their own kind and so we see the development of genetic stratification/sections within the Turkish community. The more European-looking types, who tend to be the peace activists and intellectuals, and then you have the more Romany-looking types who are mentally slow and tend to politically run the country.
