treatened by the british military activity in cyprus or do you feel they protect you more from the turkish.

I am british but feel a strong (spirtitual and physical) link with the island. this is because i have visited cyprus and a greek cypriot family we know 16 times, and live on the island for 2 years. this may not sound impresive but when you consider i'm only 16 its alot of visits.

anyway life story over just wondered how you feel about the british military :D

hey patto welcome to the forum.

i guess we never considered the british as protectors of our island. we also dont feel threatend by them. we generally view them like a colonial piece that is still in cyprus and should go away.
but you dont have to worry, this unlikely to happen in the near future. we have bigger problems to solve at the timebeing.

The British (I am taking about the governement, not the people) will help us or harm us depending on what suits them. So far what suits them is to hurt us more and help us as much as it is needed to maintain their divide and rule policies.

Do not listen to Piratis Patto. He is a typical xenophobic and unsecure Cypriot who needs to find scapegoats for all our misfortunes. If it wasn't the Brits it would be someone else. BTW, 60% of our tourist influx comes from the British Isles and despite loving to hate the Brits, literaly we cannot survive without them. Also, if the Brits were not the rulers of Cyprus in 1922, Piratis and some other patriots of the forum would probably be ... turkish-speaking Cypriots now and very proud to be Turkish indeed.

Piratis also forgets that the Cyprus Tourist and Real estate industry are hugely dependent on the British market...

Piratis doesn't care how much money British bring here since unlike some others he is not willing to sell off his country.

Bananiot, I am not like you. Greeks elsewhere have been under the ottomans for much longer than we did here and what you say did not happen. Please do not judge others based on how you are an what you would do.

Patto, since some others tried intentionally to cause confusion I will repeat that we have no problem with the average British people, but with the policies of the UK government.
