What your father was saying was "pou en poune o mavrodiaolos !!
The recollection of my Father's words surely could not be THAT far beyond my memory ?, I could accept that "Που ειναι το μινι μαυρο!" might have been his exclamation:- "Where is the little Black" (or some such) but cannot imagine that he would have included the name of 'The Evil One' since, due to his own childhood in the shadow of the 'Απόστολος Ανδρέας' (Apostolos Andreas) it would be absolutely forbidden, particularly since HIS family (as is the case with certain of my own) were/are closely associated with organisations which devote considerable Time, Finance and Energy to the misfortunates of this world.
I do wonder if your 'Scholarly Attributes' might be slightly out of depth in connection with other (local or remote) regions, is it not possible that (as with 'Stroumbi the Great') there might be many expressions which are characteristic to certain communities which might be a little obscure ?, such derivations of language are quite common in various regions of the UK, why not in 'Cyprus'?.
