Well if they are, it worked for someone a week ago who fancied a late night trahana and went down picked up one of their own brand ones. Not at all bad even though it's 100% cow's milk.

They didn't do the well-known CY brands.

The Tesco one is particularly bland - but it still has the Cyprus flag on it. :D Perhaps it's the blander versions that have prepared the British palate for halloumi. I don't think many Brits would eat the ones prepared by villagers that still smell of brovada ... :)

I remember in Australia we had a Cypriot Imported version. It was shit arse! Loaded with salt, preservative and tasted bitter as all hell.

Halloumi is now a regular item on supermarket shelves there now. Most Australians call it the Barby cheese.

But they also stock Australian Produce Halloumi. I remember even getting it from an Italian Cheesemaker. He sold Cyprus Halloumi produced in Australia. That was sweet as, and you could also barbecue it. Expensive, but the best Halloumi I ever had...

Last year I met a New Zealander who said they produce halloumi locally.

Now while the cheese shop sketch featured Bazouki and mentioned Fetta there was no Halloumi included in the list.

Disgraceful.

Halloumi is also on sale in Russia...

Ahhh, a double sausage and egg halloumi McMuffin glazed with HP sauce.

Give us some of that along with an ice cold full fat coca-cola to wash it down with. I'm lovin it!
