After 6 GC pilots applied for a job with the Turkish Airlines (Voted to be the best airline in Europe for the third successive year), one of them who got his licences in UK had been awarded employment. Apparently he managed a very high score at the pre-entry tests.
So the "carpet beggars" are not doing too bad after all are they - they actually have the cream of your professionals applying for work! Good luck to those who do get employed - but what I wander is, what about all those who have been mud slinging and calling demeaning names at Turkish anything? If they were half right - these guys must have been absolutely mad to even apply! AND how does it feel like working for a country that has apparently "invaded" your homeland?
I have no objections to GCs working in Turkey or TRNC and vice-versa, in fact I condone such working relationship between the peoples occupying the same part of the Mediterranean, which can only be good news for a peaceful co-existence. BUT I am dying to find out how this will be interpreted by the small "idiots club" in this ELAM dominated forum.
Just make sure you do not make remarks that will pass the boundaries of stupidity such as "Yippeee! Turkey needs Greek Cypriot pilots". THY is the airline that flies to most destinations in the World, keeps the youngest fleet in Europe of Airbuses and Boeing aircraft, employs thousands of pilots, and has been elected as NO.1 over the pas 3 consecutive years. The only airline making profits and expanding, while many EU airlines are shrinking or have either gone or going bust!
