Cyprus, is now effectively a Greek, Turkish, British and Russian Military base. I have just returned from spending a considerable amount of time in Akrotiri and Dhekelia and can tell you that its relationship with the Turkish Military bases in the north are as close as a hand in a glove! If, and we all know it's IMPOSSIBLE, Cyprus is ever unified, it would be goodbye to the British bases - and we all know that can never happen, AY! Now, the Russian Navy is in Paphos, hello to the further increase in Cancer Patients, and goodbye to any unified so-called "Cypriot" identity. By the way, the latest Population figures in the North is as follows (inside source from KADEM):
Turks of Turkey: 568'000
Turkish Cypriots: 92'000
Mixed Turkish/Turkish Cypriots: 82'000
While, in the South, the population consists of 35% from the EU, 14% from other (mostly from Asia!) and only 51% Greek/Greek Cypriot.
Looks like it's a Majority TURKISH populated island!
