But you are the ones who claim to have changed, progressed and become "European" and that your real aim is to create a Cypriot island for Cypriots, yet your officials allow a giant flag of another country to be hoisted in such a sensative arena, what you say and what you do just does not ring true or create any confidence in the people on the other side of the fence.....whereas we do not claim such things.

Unlike Turkey, we have what is called Freedom of speech and expression. It's part of being European. Teams like Omoneia and Ael often raise Turkish flags, and the officials allow it.

The solution of the Cyprus problem will be based on the European Acquis communautaire and U.N resolutions.

They are your equivalent. Just as you raise the Turkish flag and recite Ataturk every morning, there are GCs who do something similar on the other side of the fence.

At the same time, there's another percentage of the population with different viewpoints.

The right to raise the Greek flag as well as the Turkish flag is in the Republics constitution.

Have you heard of the expression fuel to the fire? is that allowed in the EU, allowing a possibly explosive situation explode without taking precautions? So you wont have any problem with Turks pulling out a bigger flag of the TRNC all in the name of freedom of speach?

The national flags of both teams playing are normally hung on the flag polls of the stadium but unfortunately the GCs didnt put up the Turkish Flag....yet the flag of the south was flown at the games in Turkey......nasty stuff.

The Turkish flag was put up. Where di you see the explosive situation? As soon as the flag of the country that currently occupies our land started appearing in the crowd you got a massive response back with the Greek flag and the national anthem. Normal behaviour of a people who's land is under millitary occupation.

Was it better when APOEL went to trabzon and the fans got pelted with every type of missile you can think off including bricks? As far as I know in GSP last night not a fly was hurt and the people of Trabzonspor said thankyou for the great hospitality from the Board of Apollon promising to return the favour on the next leg.
