I smell a rat.

At the beginning of this year the IMF and the ECB with help from the Cyprus Government, showed just how easy it was to divest Cypriots of the contents of their bank accounts. Surprisingly, there was no uprising, no riot’s, no storming of Govt. Buildings etc. it all went very smoothly. Of course those with vast sums of money in the bank were forewarned and got their money out before the bank robbery.

Then the Troika insists that the Govt. revises IPT to collect more money from the ordinary Cypriot. The usual chaos around the decision has ensued with demands for payment based on a system nobody seems to understand, those supposed to be enforcing it most of all.

I noted the Govt. were making noised about people being charged interest if it was not paid and ‘certain other charges’.

The following is food for thought:

Man loses home over $134 debt

If the Govt. can introduce taxes which the people cannot pay then those that have property will lose it to the same system as has cost many their homes in the US.

I can relate one incident in Cyprus that I know of. Two children orphaned by the Helios plane crash received the compensation and it was put into Laiki Bank. They also inherited some land (25 building plots) which, when it was bought generations ago was an area of hilly scrub and not really worth anything. This land is now in an area of some very expensive property. The children obviously cannot pay the IPT as they have no income, the Laiki Bankers took it. So the IPT will be added as a debt to their inheritance, plus interest, plus charges and in 20 years time, when these children grow up, they will have nothing ...... the Government and the bankers will have taken their money and their land.

So, ’they’ can now take not only your money but your home as well. Society seems to regressing to the age of the serf (that’s us!) and the land owning rich (that’s them) and to listen to some people there is no overall plan for this because they deny the existence of a ‘New World Order’. In that case, it must be the only corporation on the planet that does not have a board of Directors, a CEO, a business plan, targets and goals, a management structure, communication and cooperation.

I smell a rat .............. :x

It could (will?) happen here ..................

A tiny community descended from slaves on Georgia's Sapelo Island is again fighting local officials over property assessments that resulted in huge tax increases. Residents and landowners of the small Hog Hammock community say they could be taxed out of their homes and forced to sell their family land. They waged a second round of appeals Monday with the McIntosh County Board of Equalization, which in January ordered assessors to recalculate land values on the island.

With the changes to Immoveable Property Tax in Cyprus, I can see this happening here! Incomes are dropping and the valuation of property for taxation purposes, is in the hands of the Government. When the poor that have land but a low or even no income cannot pay the IPT taxes the state will move in and take the land in lieu. They have proved they can take your money and this is how they will take the land. Only the rich will be able to pay and all the land owned by ordinary Cypriots and passed down through the generations will end up in the hands of the same rich people.

Don't worry about the Turks stealing your lands and property, the GC Government will do it!
