Yes... not terribly unsurprising.

Another good example of Turkish Intransigence.

Cyprus has played its hand well on this one. It makes Turkey look intransigent and unwilling to make any moves for peace. It takes EU direct trade for the occupied areas off the agenda and means Cyprus can keep blocking EU accession chapters with the fault lying with a belligerent Turkey...

your no of 2004 is top. no amount of refusal by the terks will counteract that, and of course your next no will cement division.

Yes absolutely file, it was a win-win whichever way it went... and there are also a lot of very unhappy people in the place some call "maras" , people who could see the enormous benefits, who now see the isolations imposed by Turkey and its Illegal Regime continuing.

Anyways... let's prepare for more Intransigence to a settlement from "trnc", as Pres A is proposing the issue of Territory is brought forward and discussed first at any re-start of the talks.

Another rejection by "trnc" of a pretty sensible proposal to get things moving will not go down well.

It wasn't an offer. It was one more request for Turkey to follow through with U.N. resolutions.

You miss the point. This was about Cyprus, the EU and Turkey. The Republic has now linked the direct trade debate and the opening of Turkey's EU chapters to the return of Varosha. Quite a smart manoeuvre. Any time Turkey now asks for direct trade to the occupied areas and the opening of its EU chapters, now Cyprus can just say it offered a deal but Turkey rejected it!

The Gcs and the Tcs, as far as the Cyprus problem is concerned, are just a collective of excuses and inconveniences for the great powers to move their chess pieces according to their own game.

When the Cyprus problem is solved they won't be thinking about the poor GCs and TCs, they'll be thinking about the future of Turkey and Israel in the region.

How many times does Turkey have to tell you people to go fuck yourselves the EU perspective died for Turkey years ago and they dont give a shit about jumping to the tune like yourselves of the EU. So not such a great move after all. No Ercan no deal.
