Dear Mr Betend,

Please continue documenting your experiences in GAU TRNC in this forum. I'll make sure they reach people. Do you mind if I refer to you as Erik Betend or Mr Betend and give people the opportunity to contact you or would you rather have another alias or remain unnamed?

Never in the long history of the human specie has religion ever contributed any thing but hatred and wars.
Time to shout our loud and crystal clear. Its a lie !!!

That's true for Islam, but Christianity has never contributed to hatred and wars.

IMO you are erroneously mixing true Christian faith with heretic Churches like the Catholic one, etc. Of course, it suits you right, because you have many vices. :x

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Iconoclasm

The actions of the Byzantine Orthodox church brought about the destruction of the Byzantine empire through the continuous instigation and enforcement of bitter civil wars on petty religious subjects such as the use of pictures in churches and the gender of angels.

The Orthodox church is just a business trying to make money like all other businesses. The 'kryfo scholeio' was just a myth. Throughout Ottoman occupation the church taxed their subjects as much as they could, sometimes even more than the Ottomans did.

Iconoclasm was a difference of opinion between people on the importance of icons. The Church itself was not responsible for this, but the emperor Leo (maybe you should read the link you have provided!).

It's just ridiculous to accuse the Orthodox Church for being responsible for the destruction of the Byz. Empire. The Empire fell gradually as any other Empire had fallen before and after (Roman, Ottoman, British, etc.).

The Orthodox Church should be credited for keeping Hellenism alive throughout the Ottoman Occupation period. The only reason there are still Greeks today it's the Church.

Now put Churches aside, and tell us how the Christian faith is responsible for wars and hatred...

I was meaning (the smell of your) "posts", not "emails".

IMO, as a teacher, or is it "teacher" , you should be able to answer questions when asked...

1. Why didn't you ask for help from the French embassy in the "trnc"?
2. Are you a homosexual? (one vice leads to the next, like a chain reaction)

Waiting for the answers...

Eric Betend,

Just to clarify. Despite your patronising and insulting manner, which I excuse as you are French, I encourage you to continue posting about your terrible experience of working in the occupied areas of Cyprus.

Your account is informative and provides a revealing first-hand account of the conditions there. You should definitely expose to a wider audience the situation you have endured and the way you have been treated.

Your emails give off a strong smell of frustration, hubris, narrow-mindedness, petty thinking and racism.
As a consequence, instead of trying to gauge your beliefs to the tangible facts of reality, you desperately want to see reality as a reflection of your beliefs.
As small-time historians, you stick to a few basic pieces of knowledge and you keep bringing them up as a demonstration thinking they encompass the whole reality.
You like to play the role of gurus on this forum, supported by a handful of followers who have completely lost their free will and critical thinking.

Fortunately, the world is much broader than your frustrated personalities.

Ok, but you forgot to flush the toilet and now there’s a pile of poo-poo left behind. :?

Bloody hell...that must make me insane to have lasted this long

As for Mr Betend, I agree, keep this coming. It's something I'd prefer to seeing exposed than sweeping under the carpet.

I was just reading that there's a German speaking minority in Lorraine. Unfortunately, they are not represented within Lorraine and German is not even an official language there. I think it's time for Germany to intervene and create the German Republic of Eastern France.

I'll be more than happy to work in Lothringen American University whilst telling angry French people I know more about their history than they do.

Meanwhile, let's listen to this relaxing tune. The language is Breton, a non-recognised minority language in France of the people of Bretagne.
