How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

i was under the impression that we had democratic election in the trnc and the liberal elements won. of course if only you had independent media and fair elections you may also benefit from democracy.

we can dream and one day it may just come true.

Kentish is probably going to print the contents of this thread to take them to one of the truth conventions he organises.

  you will never know as you are not allowed in. you will have to make do with the usual "pity me i am a hard done by greek cypriot" convention

The thread opens with a post that talks about the alleged ethnic cleansing of ethnic TURKISH CYPRIOTS (as opposed to the ethnically different TURKS from a country called TURKEY located north of the Cypriot republic.).

Political policies from that country called Turkey on ethnic Turkish Cypriots in their own homeland since 1974 will see the final act of ethnic cleansing and genocide on the ethnicity know as Turkish Cypriot which will eventually lead to their eventual disappearance from the face of the Earth.

Well done!

Under Turkish rule, the T/Cs have endured isolation, cultural eradication and mass emigration. Even the most fanatical Greek nationalist couldn't have inflicted such a disaster on the Turkish Cypriots.

Communities can become extinct just like certain species of animals. There's no law which states that T/Cs must be around forever. As one T/C put it: "People remember the American Indians but who will remember the Turkish Cypriots?"

Sadly reading the posts by some T/Cs on here it's as if they are resigned to their fate...

Do you recall your leader Nicos Sampson saying "Sampson told the Greek newspaper, Eleftherotipia, on 26.02.81,' I would not only have proclaimed Enosis but I would have annihilated the Turks in Cyprus as well.' now thats a Greek nationalist that would have inflicted far worse harm on TCs than Turkey ever could, you forget we are not just Cypriots we are also Turkish so becoming Turkish more than Cypriot is no big loss as Cypriots do not exist anyway.

So why do you even call yourself "Turkish Cypriot" if Cypriots does not exists?

If after 400 years of Cyprus heritage does not make you a Cypriot, then you never were one to begin with.

Oh, I forgot. You were born and raised in the UK, weren't you? Now I understand your struggle of being a Cypriot.

If you are born in Cyprus you are a Cypriot. Being Greek or Turkish for Cypriots is more of a state of mind than a fact. Keep living your Ottoman fantasy.

So those that were born on this island after 1974 are Cypriots?

Exactly, so the people in the north under the current situation will continue to develop more towards their Turkish identity than "Cypriot" is this such a bad thing?...are Greek Cypriots ashamed of being Greek? you are the one claiming we are going to disappear when all we are really doing is evolving back to our roots which was as you recall Turkish to start with. The fact that circumstances did not allow the Cypriot people to develop is the fault of all those that contirbuted to the current situation, if this is not changed then the New Generation Turkish Cypriots will continue to grow in numbers as the years pass.
