Turkey is like a flea compared to the size of the EU combined countries. Turkey needs to realise its no longer guarantor, and go home, where it belongs.

What has stopped you making us go `home` for 40 years? And who will make us go for the next zillion years?

Corruption on the international scale is what has kept Cyprus from getting justice… the kind of corruption fostered by the short-sighted likes of Miltiades who thinks Israel is a great country because we have a business deal or two with them!

When the majority of people think that way criminals like Turkey and Israel go unpunished.

Indeed. Corruption, bureaucracy and red tape.

Cyprus for the last 40 years, although stragegically placed, has not been important enough for anyone to sort out the mess and give her people justice and peace. Behind closed doors its like a little game, how long can the little people be kept in the dark and arguing until the people at the top who hold all the cards decide to start playing too.

I'm not quite sure I like the idea of Cyprus being in cahoots with Israel.
1: Wholly hypocritical being friends with a country who ethnically cleanse the Palestinians.
2: Playing games and being friends, because its somebody else who doesn't like Turkey publically.
3: Israel have seen gas and oil, and they want to cash in...so lets be friends?

I could go on...

However, part of me is almost inclined to think Israels friendship would be a good idea. Purely because of Turkey. A large super power that is also friends with the rest of the world leaning on Erdogan the Prat sounds irresistible!

I'm not quite sure I like the idea of Cyprus being in cahoots with Israel.

There’s nothing wrong with both CONDEMNING Israel for all her past war crimes AND having a legal business deal or two with them today, and that’s what most don’t seem to understand.

They assume that just because a partnership has now been struck with Israel their past must be erased!

EU,an organization with no Turkish presence, is not eligible to provide security for Turks!

The EU is entitled, obliged and able to provide security for all EU citizens and all other people inhabiting EU territories like Cyprus (including the millions of Turkish migrants in EU member states). Turkey, on the other hand, a country which is NOT and will NEVER be a member of the EU, is not entitled to act as the protector of EU citizens and especially on EU territory which it is occupying illegally.

Turkey is a guarantor country in Cyprus and EU is an outsider. Of course Turkey won't be a member of EU, neither will TRNC. We are not Christians.

Horse sh... A country that promotes the partition of Cyprus into two individual, independent and sovereign entities is everything else BUT a guarantor of Cyprus.

Even if I agree that Turkey invaded as a guarantor in 1974 in order to avert the results of the coup, her job was done and finished when the constitutional order (the legitimate government) was restored in August of 1974. From that point on Turkey violates the constitution, the international law AND it’s obligations as a guarantor. Therefore, Turkey has lost the guarantor status and is just an invader and an international criminal. Now, if you tell me that Turkey guarantees the safety of the Turkish Cypriots, I answer that their safety COMBINED WITH freedom and democracy can be guaranteed by the EU and NATO.

P.S. I understand that being a Turk-Turk you may not understand very well what the terms "freedom" and "democracy" mean. I suggest you look them up in some good encyclopaedias.

You’re still thinking at the community level but all that is now in the past.

It’s now about the country Cyprus, not communities. Community talks and complicated arrangements are well and truly OVER mark my words.
