The RoC has the upper hand in the UNGA and UNSC (allies like China and Russia) with resolutions that Turkey is unable to overcome, effectively locking the “TRNC” into submission.

The RoC has the upper hand in the EU thereby controlling Turkey’s future in a wide range of issues.

The RoC has the upper hand in the oil/gas future of the region and relations with the EU thereby diminishing Turkey’s potential in this area and influence.

The RoC has recently “snatched” Turkey’s ally (Israel) thereby losing further influence and American support.

The RoC is a constant supporter of Kurdistan (PKK) thereby being a major contributor towards Turkey’s major domestic thorn.

The Republic has an island-wide multi layered S2A network system (TOR-M1/BUK/Mistral/Skyguard/Aspide/Oerlikon/S300) to deal with the TAF, but the “TRNC” has no such cover/protection.

Turkey doesn’t seem terribly concerned about your infrastructure and human casualties.

Even the 'census' in the occupied areas claims that 56 per cent of the population in the north weren't born on the island. And of those half that were born in the occupied areas they haven't released figures on where their parents were born!

I think a figure of less than 80,000 TCs eligible for Cyprus citizenship is about right.
