Question of the Week

Postby DrCyprus » Mon Aug 05, 2013 4:39 pm

Can a Greek Cypriot be employed in Turkey?

A few days ago I sent out some CVs and job applications to a few businesses in Turkey. Today, I checked my inbox and realised that some of them have actually replied and are showing active interest towards my application. It's clearly marked on my CV that I come from the republic of Cyprus and that my native language is Greek.

What do you guys think? Will I be working in Istambul next year or what?

Having a Greek passport is not the same as having a Cypriot passport.

Have you applied to be a riot policeman? I hear the job satisfaction is very low.

Money and career.

20,000 euro per month is not something to scoff at and these jobs are offered to International applicants!

According to what I have been told, there is also a steady influx of expertise from near bankrupt Greek operators to the rapidly expanding Turkish firms because their demand far outweighs their locally grown supply.

I can also tell you that many British, Americans and even German recruits are being poached from other firms in Asia and Middle East!
