Your first post just says immigrants. People who want to live in your country. Like myself, I am English and I am moving to Cyprus in October because I wish to live there. That makes me an immigrant, yet people associate 'immigrant' with 'illegal immigrant' when they are not the same thing.

So your original post basically, says you don't anybody who isn't a Cypriot in your country as if you think that this preserves your people and culture. Which is racist, as letting people in does not destroy your culture or your people. People who are actually racist, who dislike foreigners usually use this as an excuse to hide their racism.

However, from your explanations, you're now making clear what you mean which isn't what was originally posted.

But kimon07 does not mention Cyprus. He talks about Greece.....a totally different country.

Thank you!!

That's true and my mistake, but still the point remains. The country in question isn't important. It doesn't change the principles at all. I just assumed it was Cyprus because it's a forum for Cyprus. Whichever country it is, the post remains true and shouldn't be distracted away from.

He says he has a problem with immigrants, but then later says he only has a problem with illegal immigrants. Then he clarifies further that actually, his problem is with illegal immigrants that do certain things, which is fine. This is probably a major factor in why people call him racist, because there is nothing wrong with immigration and to say there is, would be racist. It appears like he is discussing an entire range of people, that his grievances don't apply to. To deny somebody else the chance to live in your country who is entitled to, just because they are a foreigner is racist. But it appears that this isn't what he actually means, which is why he's being called racist.

If you were really trying to preserve your culture you would start by associating yourself with the word "xenophobe", a Greek word, instead of the imported word of "racist" which implies a completely different historical relationship.

hitler had the same ideas. your are racist because you do not accept the right of the tcs to exist in cyprus as they wish even if it means two states.

Hitler had the same ideas as you. Invading others, ethnic cleansing and stealing. We don't have a problem with the ethnic minority of Turks to exist in Cyprus. Our problem is with your racist crimes which make you the biggest racist criminals since Hitler!

Nice post Kimon. Who cares what corrupted politicians, atheists, homos, pseudo-commies and other scum thinks.

Nationalists will soon rule Greece and all these traitors will go to prison.

"Xenos" had a different meaning in ancient Greece. It meant guest. Foreigners (non Hellenes) were called barbarians.

Now piss off.

I agree with you ... but also the immigrants should like the locals and try to assimilate in their new country. The problems start when the immigrants expect their host country to change to accommodate them instead!!

I agree with you to an extent, but not fully. These people didn't force their way to your country. Your country welcomed them with open arms.

Everybody in every country, should be tolerant of each other. Nobody should have to give up their beliefs in order to be happy somewhere else and by the same token, nobody has the right to come to your country and demand changes that have some kind of negative effect on you. Your country should happily accommodate them, while at the same time accommodating everybody else. If I am hosting a party and I ask people to come to my house and experience my hospitality, I don't say to them 'I am warning you, my rules or no rules. You're gonna have to be completely different when you're here.'

I try my best to accommodate their needs, and they in return must respect my home. The same should be here. Accommodating their beliefs and needs, does not mean that you have to destroy your own. You can simply do both. This is where the issue is, the locals in my experience perceive it as a threat to their culture, when there is no such thing.

I agree with Kimon that we have to follow the lead of the British Nationalists who fear for their country and culture. After all, we have suffered the most from these "illegal immigrants" (call them what you may) occupying nearly half our country and forcing our people out of their homes as well as destroying centuries-old religious heritage!
