These deviations are mainly as a result of the surrounding environment.
It is no secret that Blacks are slightly better developed physically, because in Africa they were still hunter gatherers, had to chase game or run from a predator such as a Lion.
Europeans, are slightly not as well developed in muscle tone but have an ever slightly superior IQ because of their environment. But as you can also see, there are greater chances of obese related illness in developed countries than in the less developed tribal areas of Africa.
This does not mean that white people can't be good athletes or basketballers or that a Black African can't be super intelligent! The US has a Black President!
Overall, I think the US is doing very well. I really do believe the racial issues are less of a problem there than they are in Europe.
This has shades of Hippocrates about it...
However one good reason for a dearth of obesity related illness in the tribal regions of Africa, might be diet, with less exposure to processed foods with e.g. transfats, sugars and the like, if not a generally restricted diet to mostly fresh produce and with limited scope to consume to excess. I don't however dismiss possible genetic links to specific medical conditions, including obesity and related illness where a genetic mutation might for example influence enzyme reactions which might in turn affect digestion and the e.g. absorption / transformation / use of fats and sugars, etc,.
Sadly there are an increasing number of obese people even in Cyprus, (amongst other places) particularly sadly noticeable in Children.
