Hi, we own a 2 bedroomed unfurnished apartment on the outskirts of Paphos, it is currently for sale, we have had no offers for 2 years, things are becoming tight financially does anyone have advice? Should we furnish it and try to rent it out? If so does anyone know a really reliable provider of furniture? I am new to the forum world so please forgice me if my questions are not appropriate, we would be grateful for some help, with thanks Suki

Well, I guess lowering the price may attract a buyer but renting requires proper management which is hard for the landlord to manage from a distance.

Yes, managing anything from anywhere distant is fraught with difficulty.

Research any local management agent very carefully cos there have been problems.

Be wary of the law in CY that tenants acquire rights if they stay for longer than a year... so make the max tenancy period a year less a day.

You can rent it un-furnished ...then you tend to get a better class of tenant as they have all their own stuff so less likely to leave .Also more inclined to look after the property .

I see you also posted this on an ex-pat forum .........beware most of them are out of touch with reality ........as you can see from your question on there they are just "point scoring" against each other ...
