They chose to deliver the knock out punch more efficiently and more humanely than the former option.

You, having served in the military should understand these concepts of leadership and the greater good and be able to make dificult decisions.

After 6 years of fighting the Japs, Australia and America had enough and were looking for a speedy end.

That’s the beauty of the Geneva Conventions Paphitis! You can no longer go for the easy way out of mass murdering civilians who are irrelevant to a fight and you MUST confront the enemy or surrender your self!

Which means that the tenacity of the Japanese military in WWII might have won them the war had it been fought fair and square!

It’s like a game of soccer… America chose to throw hand grenades in the stands against the opponent's supporters so as to force the opponent to give up the match!

How brave!

The Japanese killed up to 20 million civilians in China alone.

Perhaps the Geneva Convention applies to the Japs more so than America!

Furthermore, there was no Geneva Convention on the Kokoda Track and in concentration camps holding American, Australian and British POWs.

Japanese POWs were held in Australia in 5 star luxury and had more to eat than Australian civilians did, so the US and Australia were upholding Geneva conventions before their inception, unlike Japan.

Btw, I am waiting for you to answer the question I posed to you!

Would you as commander of a 1000 sons of Cyprus send them to their deaths or order air support and ground strikes which may involve civilian casualties?

Cmon man, after your regular war threads I want to see what YOU would do!

I can’t answer this daft and vague scenario you’ve created in your non-military head.

And not to mention that it has nothing to do with the Geneva Conventions since civilians or injured/captured soldiers are not involved!

Just remember that unlike civilians, soldiers are legally expendable so they should be put to good use in an appropriate strategy.

Well Mr. Get Real,

You have just shown us exactly why you do not hold a Commission with the CNG!

You and I are completely different! You say your boys are expendable! My boys never were and never will be! My boys were family, mates and I would never live with myself if I didn't do everything in my power to keep them alive to return to their wives, children and extended families.

You just lack common sense and leadership.

I can't recall ever seeing a Buddhist blowing people up in the name of their God.

Correct me if I'm wrong btw.

You’re just pissed off because you can’t score a win via your shitty little scenario!

But who can possibly answer your question when they have no knowledge of the battle layout, available resources and overall options?

Furthermore, I avoid being to hard on you because I know that it is your deep seeded hatred for America that is blinding you from your common sense!

I suggest you clear your head and avoid making posts whilst this deep seeded hatred exists because your posts become nonsensical. Take the hate and passion out and give us some real intelligent food for thought we have come to know please!
