Postby megahz » Tue Nov 15, 2005 2:23 pm

hey you all,
I have an announcement to make:

HIPHOP FESTIVAL 2005
- Press Release -

www.hiphop.com.cy and the Organisation of Youth organize the biggest Hip-Hop Festival that has ever occurred in Cyprus. The festival will include all 4 elements of Hip-Hop, graffiti, break-dance, Scratch DJs & live performances from Cypriot artists and, for the very first time in Cyprus, ex Terror-X-Crew Artemis and Efthimis.

The festival will take place in Club Treno on Friday 25th of November 2005 and there will be FREE entrance for everyone.

It will start at 18:30 with graffiti outside the club from Cypriot graffiters who will be gathered from all over Cyprus to show their artistic skills and mastery with the spray. Free sprays will be offered to anyone who wants to try.
At 21:00 the doors open and the party begins with music with DJ Pono Kefalos and DJ Μάγος on the decks. The two Cypriot DJ gurus will take matters in their hands to offer the best music, not only Hip-Hop but also reggae, funk and break beats for the Break dancers program.

Break dancers from all over the island will attend the event, like Rebel Dancers, LCB, The Godfathers and more. B-Boys and B-Girls promise an unforgettable battle on the dance floor.

A short live part will take place with Greek and English songs performed by FTW, Mazout, One Way and POTS to prepare everyone for the performances that are about to follow.

Yiannos Wu together with Pono Kefalos and their crew will take care for a blazing live Hip-Hop performance. The oldest masters of Hip-Hop in Cyprus will heat up the audience for the Greek MCs.
DNA will also take the lead to open up the stage and pass the mics to the Greek Hip-Hop veterans Artemi and Efthimi.

Artemis and Efthimis, ex Terror-X-Crew are one of the most significant Hip-Hop groups in Greece. With 4 LPs in their hands, two of which became gold, and with a history since 1992 they are undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Greek Hip-Hop scene.

The group collaborated with many artists and, in the past, opened up the stage for big names such as Prodigy.
Since 2003 they continue their career in the Greek Hip-Hop scene as Artemis / Efthimis without the original DJ and producer of Terror-X-Crew, DJ AL-X, but with DJ Smartie and the release of the album “Egiresthe Agomen Endefthen”.

For the first time in Cyprus the Greek Hip-Hop veterans will offer a dazzling live concert full of lyrical storms, hardcore sounds and songs from all of their albums!
This is a concert that no one should miss!
For anyone who is sick of the ordinary...
For everyone who love, not only Hip-Hop but, music and art in general!

ponokefalos means headache in Greek.

Cyprus has its own Greek dialect. Something like the difference between UK english and US english.

do you know good greek or cypris singers?

Anna Vishi and Hadjiyiannis are two of the Cypriot singers that have big careers in Greece. (and there are many more).

hey halebxen.
the greek music has a distinct characterist : it is deeply divided between what we usually call quality and comercial music. the comercial is ofcource more famous. usually the line is quite clear. it really depends on what u r interested of.

I think all countries have their pop and quality music. I have a feeling that when halebxen talks about Greek music he is talking about the pop one...
