Hi all,

Right - I'm leaving myself open to all sorts of answers here (remember the wedding etiquette question?), but here goes:

We will be moving to Paralimni in possibly 4 months time. If you could give us one piece of advice, what would that be?

Learn Greek is the obvious one - and we have started on that, and we're renting rather than buying, but the floor is yours ladies and gentlemen...

Don't buy any property that does not have clean Title Deeds.

Thanks Bill. Yes - absolutely. We were going to buy when we first started planning this about 10 years ago, but we decided some time ago that we would rent.

Should add that we won't be working, and that we will be "comfortable" financially, but by no means rich. Again research (and my God have we researched!) has shown that our guaranteed income will be sufficient, and we have back up funds if necessary.

Hi GiG. Love Polis. Hope the Prodromi Taverna is still there - that chicken! Hope Mario still has his little bar behind the square too - a real gent - gave us a lift to Kathikas when the taxi didn't show. We've also considered Kakopetria, but after a lot of research we plumped for Paralimni or Dherynia (but we can still visit Polis!)

Prodromi is a lovely mix of old and new. It does have the best no-fuss souvla places. Still think of my dad when I see the men hanging around the coffee shops and think of my son when I see the new Pool table place (have not gone in there yet although I hear it's really good).

You are probably more set up than most to know what will work having planned this for so long. Wherever you will end up staying, you know it's easy to travel around. On this note, I would give one piece of advice and that is to get an off-road car if you can. There are still lots of dirt-tracks that lead you to exciting places. River treks are a new discovery for me. Bridges are a bonus.
