My partner has not done anything illegal it is a long story but needless to say no protection against important people. Check out the Norwegian girl who was raped then jailed. Or the Indian who was beaten up, all last week.
I am squeaky clean and my partner has no issues out of UAE, I would just prefer to not go into detail.
I would stay in dubai 4 ever if my partner could do also.

I am basically going to send my cv to the schools and see what I get back.
I always have option to go back to UK!!!:(

Will they let your partner leave the UAE if he has issues there? I don't doubt justice can be skewed and he might be totally innocent but that he needs to leave.

He must really appreciate you being so loyal. I hope it works out for you.

But it's disconcerting for some of us to read that a normal, law-abiding citizen could possibly entertain the thought of going to work in the illegally occupied part of Cyprus.

I wouldn't want to go to north Cyprus but thought it may be a way in to the south?
Hope I haven't offended. Been to southern Cyprus many times, just on holiday and loved it, loved the people and the island is beautiful.
My partner has no problem leaving dubai, it is a visa overstay problem that sponsor is asking for max punishment of life ban!

That is offensive actually...going from an illegal airport to the free areas...

I didn't mean crossing a border I thought that the whole of Cyprus was in the eu now.
I think people are thinking me and or my husband have done something illegal. We are honest law abiding people,. My partners boss absconded with a local sponsors dues, as my partner is still here they are trying to put pressure on his ex boss. This happens often here, anyone not an emirati has no rites, it is black and white, we have human rights and an Arab lawyer fighting our case. We have had enough of the narrow mind set here.
I also thought the borders had been removed and it was free for anyone to cross the green line, obviously I am upsetting people here and I never meant to do so!
My dream is to live in Cyprus, (southern) I would like to teach there as I am an extremely experienced chemistry teacher and all over the world there are shortages for good chemistry teachers.
I know the wages and financial situation in Cyprus is dire but they were in dubai in 2010, I still kept my job when thousands were kicked out of dubai.
Please accept my apologies if I offended anyone at all I was unaware of the situation.

OK, we have your name, someone will put you on the PNG (that is persona non grata, not Papua New Guinea) list after showing an interest in working in the occupied areas!

Sorry is this serious? I have apologised for offending people what does png mean? Am I now blacklisted from this site now? Or Cyprus? I thought this site was to ask for advice and friendly chatting!
