Unofficial CF Rule Book for New Members

Postby bill cobbett » Wed Jul 17, 2013 11:49 pm

As a help to the over-whelming masses of new members recently on CF...

There are certain conventions on CF. They are contained in the Unofficial CF Rule Book.

Here is Section 1, sub-section (i)...

The Cease-Fire Line will be referred to as the Cease-Fire Line or the Barricades.

Use of the word "border" is banned.

Use of the phrase "check-point" is banned. Members may use the word "crossing".

In the context of "crossings", the word "visa" is banned. The phrase "complimentary bum wipe" is allowed.

Members will only refer to the Occupied Areas as the Occupied Areas, Katehomena, the Wrong Side of the Cease-Fire Line or by use of suitably derogatory terms, such as the Sewer of "trnc" where appropriate.

The Free Areas of the Republic may also be referred to as the Free Areas.

All towns and villages in the Occupied Areas will be pre-fixed Occupied (capitalised) e.g. Occupied Kyrenia.

Where towns or Districts are only partly Occupied, use will be made of appropriate qualification e.g. the Occupied Part of Nicosia.

No reference will be made to "south" or "north" .

Ex-pat "buyers" of stolen properties in the Occupied Areas are to be referred to as CarpetBaggers, CarpetSquatters, CarpetBuggerers, CarpetShaggers or similar.

Paphos must never be spelled Pafos.

Any former inhabitant of the Occupied Village of Yialousa must always be referred to as Yialoser.

It is allowable to refer to any current inhabitant of the village of Tseri in the Free Areas as Unfortunate.

charluimmu you left out the most important things.

all british charlies will be called charlui
the 20th will be here soon so all charluis and locals must practice the frothing of the mouth like a rabied dog for at least 4 hours per day every day for best effect
when you see the lights on the mountain you must stand to attention.
the word tc must not be mentioned.
cyprus has always been greek and will always be greek so if you think otherwise shut it.
if you few quid please put it in the bank of cyprus and dont worry about any barber of lefkosia he will behave and not take it all
if you cross the border do not forget to bring your passport
dont worry about tls the euros are just as liquid but we draw the line on greek euros. you can give them to the resident charlui to wipe his bits that never shine.

and by the way the correct spelling of the town in the west is baf.

Yes agree with all of the above!

Small amendment though:

when referring to the "tnuc"land, we must use quotations marks and the letters must be in the lower case as a final mark of disrespect!

For example, "trnc" as opposed to "TRNC".

["tnuc"land is not worth the energy I expend pushing the SHIFT key down for capitalization. Even worse when using Apple IPAD or IPhone because you need to press the Capitalization arrow and then disengage it. Outrageous waste of energy mate for a Latrine!!!]

Also, must mention other terms such as Latrine and Latriners. I think they are yours or ZoC's. Brill terms those!

...and don't forget to put "pseudo" in front of anything that the "tnuc" considers to be official, such as pseudo-VP.

What an interesting rule book!

As I am part German(and a newbie), I feel it only necessary to lay out my towel on a deckchair with a bucket of popcorn at my side, and take notes :P
