yes... must be the disappointment of the abandonment of "project of the century".

Anway, can we get back on thread a little.

These are the two articles from Page 1...

..."Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis (10.07.13), reports that Turkish Cypriot Primary Teachers' Union (KTOS), Turkish Cypriot Primary Teachers' Union (KTOEOS), "Turkish Cypriot State Workers' Union" (Cag-Sen), Turkish Cypriot Physicians' Union (Tip-Is) and the "Academic personnel of East Mediterranean University's Union" (Dau-Sen), in a joint announcement issued yesterday, said that "the north part of Cyprus, which is considered an EU territory, is under the administration of Turkey", adding that this is contrary to the founding treaties of the Republic of Cyprus as well as to the Geneva Treaty.

In the joint statement, it is said that the "self-styled governments of the breakaway regime administrate the Turkish Cypriots with the decisions and the interferences of Ankara governments", adding that there is a perception in the occupied area of the Republic of Cyprus, which defends the integration and the assimilation and this perception continues to wipe out the Turkish Cypriots, to take their identity and personality and keep them as hostages for bargaining.

According to the joint statement, the Turkish Cypriots have been subjected for 30 years now to the same practices that the ruling government of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan have implemented to the Gezi Park demonstrations...."

... to which we can add that an awful lot of people up there are pissed off with "trnc", more pissed off than ever with the corruption, the nepotism, the thieving, the waste and environmental disaster of "trnc". A "friend" tells us elsewhere that people are on the point of revolt over the legacy of the UBP "government".

Then the second article...

..."The accusations directed by the unions to Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party and the local “governments” include: Cementing the division in Cyprus; pillaging all the resources of Turkish Cypriots while also insulting them; turning the northern part of Cyprus into a gambling, prostitution, money laundering and human trafficking centre; pillaging Greek Cypriot properties in the north; transferring hundreds of thousands of people to the north, turning it into a colony; distributing "citizenships" to usurp the political will of Turkish Cypriots; putting the Turkish Cypriot community in danger of extinction through systematic assimilation policies; controlling the north’s "police", "military", "fire department" and "Central Bank" through the Turkish Embassy..."

... which tells us of the pretty decent way of thinking of some people up there in "trnc" land and which also includes a very clear opening signal to the people in the Free Areas.

Now should we continue wasting our time arguing the toss with the small fascist minority represented by the likes of VP and Vordo...???

VP and Lordo fear a solution the most, because it'll be the end of their fascist wet dream. They would both probably kill themselves rather than live in a democratic united island. Here's to democracy! :D

As for any revolt in the occupied areas, there are a couple of things to watch out for. The boycott of the upcoming 'election' and Erdogan's possible arrival. Hopefully we'll get some fun and games. Maybe a mass telekinetic death ray directed against Erdo for starters. :D

...in my mind, the debate goes on as an existing dogma (or, as dogma vs dogma). i thank vp for his endurance, and Lordo because he is so cunning in his doublespeak, what a bore this place would be otherwise. what is natural, still is what is right. i have faith in Humanity, and from this endless debate (on this topic, in this forum and generally) we see a fruition, growth of new thought. anger, denial, blame, have failed to produce a Hatred where we can progress because there is no wrong that can be singled out for our united efforts (until the disastrous financial crisis (one way or the other) all Cypriots are facing). however the Turkish Army remains, now, and the regime built around its occupation is proven corrupt while having objectives which are foreign to the people who are the dwellers; at some point this must change.

indeed, there is the Cypriot Flag, and the difference between a "Greek" or a Greek, or a "Turk" and a Turk, is a fine line that is an attitude of mind.

Interesting that the Turkish Cypriot unions should draw a parallel with the thuggish, controlling, intrusive. Islamist regime of the AKP in Turkey with the Turkish military regime in the occupation areas. At least some TCs seem to be identifying openly with the Gezi Park protests (which we should remember are an anti-Erdogan protest).

Yes... and if some stopped to think about how "states" control, how they sometimes do their dirty business, it may not surprise many of you that there is also another factor at work, a very secretive factor, working to "influence" things in the Occupied Areas.

"Friends" up there tell us that the Turkish Intelligence Agency, MIT, is active in monitoring activists in the resistance.
