How Turkey Went From 'Zero Problems' to Zero Friends... And lost its leverage everywhere.

While Turkey's foreign policy struggles in the Middle East may have been inevitable, its isolation elsewhere seems self-inflicted. Today, the country risks returning to the mindset of the 1990s, when tensions abounded with Arab and European countries, conspiracy theories poisoned the political debate, and Turks -- convinced they were a country under siege -- repeated faithfully, "The Turk has no friend but the Turk." Erdogan, it seems, has taken his country from "zero problems" to international headaches as far as the eye can see.

....."The Turk has no friend but the Turk."..............

A Turkish minister, visiting the Muslims (Turks) of Thrace in Greece a week ago told them exactly that, meaning they should not be feeling friendly towards the rest of the Greek population. The fuckers are determined to mess up the region.

Egyptian Beshir Abdelfettah, who works for the Turkish state television’s Arabic language service, criticised Erdoğan’s Egypt policies and then resigned while on a live broadcast.

He said:

“The Egyptian people like the Turkish people very much. There is no doubt about that. Leaders may fall into dispute among themselves. But there is no dispute between the peoples. The Egyptian people like the Turkish people very much. We have historical relations, and these relations continue. But the things that Erdoğan says, the things that he says and his political stance concerning Al-Azhar and the Egyptian people are wrong.

We Egyptians have red lines. Personal interest and other things are put to one side. Love of the country is fundamental. For this reason, I announce that I have today made my last programme here and have severed all of my relations with the TRT Arabic channel. Mr Erdoğan owes the Egyptians an apology. He himself has been incapable of apologising. But I am apologising here. I am apologising to the Egyptian people. Let the one who is incapable of apologising take shame. I am ashamed to work on this channel and on this programme. I now resign before everybody’s eyes. Be entrusted to God.”

Egypt-Turkey relations hit rock-bottom:

Egypt expels Turkish ambassador following Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's call for release of Mohammed Morsi

Egypt has expelled Turkey's ambassador and downgraded relations between the two countries, a day after the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the release of ousted president Mohammed Morsi.

Egypt’s foreign minister accused Turkey of continually interfering in their internal affairs, after the Prime Minister voiced fierce criticism of Islamist President Morsi's removal on 3 July, describing it as an “unacceptable coup”.

The capital of Ankara was “attempting to influence public opinion against Egyptian interests, supported meetings of organisations that seek to create instability in the country,” foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdelatty said today.

State-run news agency MENA said Egypt had also withdrawn its ambassador Abdel Rahman Fahmy from Turkey and blamed the decision on repeated calls for Mr Morsi's release.
