If we follow your logic then you must realise there can be no solution which allows for injustice and resentment on the ground. That would be very dangerous for the remaining TCs on the island. As you say, the Turkish army won’t be around after a solution and I'm sure you don’t want to live amongst a resentful majority population where you are obliged to live in enclaves protected by foreign troops and checkpoints. So to feel completely safe you must consider what would satisfy the GCs who will be the overwhelming majority on the island. After all, we want a peaceful solution not a tense stand-off.

Saying that, if the Turkish army and settlers were to leave tomorrow, my guess is that would be the solution and there would follow a peaceful transition to democracy - much to your dismay!

Many ‘natives’ have left already, Viewpoint. There is a thread elsewhere about how Turkey is effectively wiping out the TCs from the island. The newcomers who Turkey brings to replace them are not ‘natives’. Therefore your comment is misleading and self-delusional.

Many many Turkish Cypriots have already left this island. Numbers are dwindling and with it any Turkish Cypriot legacy or bond. It might not worry you, but it should. It makes TC claims to the island very weak and tenuous if the population in the occupied areas no longer consists of ‘native’ TCs.

450 years? where did you come from? This doesn't make you a native and this should not offend either.

why are you not natives of Egypt as well? or natives to Syria or Iraq or Israel or to Lebanon and all the other former lands which the ottomans conquered? I am sorry VP but the Ottoman empire collapsed a long time ago and the Ottoman 'natives' were repatriated back to modern day Turkey. This is the home for the Turks in the modern age.

The theft of northern Cyprus is a recent event and the transplants that have moved over from Turkey since then are certainly not 'natives'.

The rape occurred after the marriage, living away in safety does not mean that a partner loses their rights, you cannot take them away. A divorce settlement is what we cannot agree.
