No one is "pursuing" Greekness as their identity, if Greek, is how they were born and raised. You have to accept being Greek is what we (the native majority of Cyprus) are; and happen to be, and love.

You are confusing your own "pursuing" of some manufactured entity and this has left you confused, unsatisfied, and prone to attack others who are stable and ' know themselves'.

I wish you luck in finding your own identity, so that you, too, can move on. But you won't find it by knocking us who have the stability and assurance of a connected history which is congruent with our present culture, language and other-worldly-pursuits.

I am very well aware of the sins of the European empires including the British Empire.......I will heartily condemn them however I will not apologize for the sins of others over whom I had no control.

It would be stupid of any one to expect you to apologize or even condemn them when you have already applauded and justified them by posting, a few months ago, that, "whether I liked it or not" the colonial rule in Cyprus was the legitimate rule of the time and that therefore, the executions of EOKA fighters by the colonial authority were justified and legal. For this YOU HAVE TO apologize. And by wishing that prominent EOKA leaders, including Grivas and the late president T. Papadopoulos would rot in hell, and by calling, in many occasions, the EOKA fighters as "back shooting murderers and thugs"

P.S. A prominent Greek professor of Law (Stathopoulos) asked about the "anti racist law" debate that has been going on for some months in Greece, said that what should be poenalized is not the denial or the doubting of genocides and atrocities, but their praising. If you know what I mean.

Mau Mau torture victims to receive £19.9m compensation from Britain

Foreign Secretary William Hague has announced a £19.9 million compensation settlement for Kenyans tortured during the Mau Mau uprising in the 1950s. He said the "British Government recognises that Kenyans were subject to torture" and "sincerely regrets that these abuses took place".

Mr Hague said: "We understand the pain and the grief felt by those who were involved in the events of emergency in Kenya. The British Government recognises that Kenyans were subjected to torture and other forms of ill-treatment at the hands of the colonial administration.
"The British Government sincerely regrets that these abuses took place and that they marred Kenya's progress to independence. Torture and ill-treatment are abhorrent violations of human dignity which we unreservedly condemn."

Compensation for victims of the Mau Mau rebellion could open the way to claims from other former colonies where allegations of torture have been made, notably in Cyprus, Malaysia and Aden.

You do not know whether these murders were sanctioned by the EOKA leadership and furthermore, the Brits killed many innocent civilians and even an underage minor.

To be a nationalist requires nobility and pride. You have neither. So its impossible for you to be or ever become a nationalist.
