Turkey Embargoes Sportspeople from "trnc"

This is an odd state of affairs, when a cyclist from the Occupied Areas wins a road race in Turkey and is not Recognised as the winner cos he's from somewhere called "trnc" and the winner is announced as a Turkish cyclist who came in second...!!!

It's reported in lemoncy, repeating a report in kibris postasi...

Here's the first half of the report...

"...A Turkish Cypriot cyclist who won a race in Turkey, organised by the Turkish Cycling Federation, was not recognised as winner on the grounds that he is a “citizen of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.”
According to a news report by Filiz Seyis published in Kıbrıs Postası, Turkish Cypriot cyclist Taçam Gökbörü won the race, but first place was awarded to Turkish cyclist Adem Koçay, who in fact came second..."
